Where count night goes wrong

The count slid to next week, and the weekend ran dry.

Count a shelf or the whole bar

Count on your phone, in the order you walk the bar. Each area can be counted separately, so the cellar doesn't have to wait for the floor.

The stocktake came up short and nobody could say why.

See stock variances in bottles and dollars

Compare two counts to see what stock usage remains unexplained by sales, waste and batch production. Jery flags missing paperwork before treating a difference as a loss.

Writing up the order takes longer than the count.

Commit, and the order is drafted

Jery builds the order from your par levels, rounded to whole bottles, grouped by supplier and priced using what you last paid.

The weekly stock loop

Count, order, receive and count again, once a week.

  1. Sunday night

Count the bar by tap, scan or voice

Enter bottle fractions on the keypad, scan a barcode or count out loud like you're talking to a colleague. Jery puts each line into the count as you speak and asks when a name could refer to more than one bottle or size. It remembers your corrections for next time.

Pre-batches count like any bottle. You commit with a tap.

  2. Monday morning

Send the order to your rep

Once you commit the count, Jery shows what's running low or out of stock against your par levels. It drafts orders in whole bottles, grouped by supplier, and keeps house batches on a separate prep list.

Check the order, then send it to your supplier. If recent sales suggest a par level needs adjusting, Jery recommends a new one.

  3. Every delivery

Receive the delivery against the order

When the truck arrives, tick off what came in. Anything missing stays open on the order, and Jery updates your stock as you receive the delivery. The supplier's invoice is checked against the same order, so shortages don't go unnoticed.

Log spills, breakage and staff drinks with a reason, and Jery adjusts your stock immediately.

  4. The next Sunday

See what's unaccounted for between counts

After the next count, Jery compares how much stock was used with what sales, waste and batch production can explain. Any difference is shown by item and category, in bottles and dollars.

Paperwork gaps, like unmatched sales, are flagged first. A figure Jery can't work out shows a dash and the reason, never a zero.

Counting on your phone

Count wherever your bottles are

Count stock on iPhone or Android, then review orders on the web. If the same bottle is stored in more than one area, Jery adds the counts together and warns you if you've missed a shelf.

Scan bottles straight into your count

Scan bottles using your phone's camera or a USB or Bluetooth scanner. If Jery doesn't recognize a bottle, it creates a draft with the name, size, strength and category for you to check. Setting up a new back bar? Let a teammate scan bottles from their phone using a QR code, without needing to sign in.

Count open bottles, not just full ones

Count spirits, liqueurs and wine in the bottle sizes you buy, including open bottles in tenths. House syrups and pre-batches work the same way. A 750 ml bottle and a one-liter bottle of the same gin stay separate, each with its own price and par level.

Stocktakes in your local measures and currency

Whether you're counting 700 ml bottles in London or Sydney, Jery uses your bar's local currency, measures and tax settings. Compare stocktakes to see discrepancies by product and value, without changing how your team works.

Bar inventory questions

How long before I see what's unaccounted for?

After two committed counts of an item, with the sales between them matched to your recipes. You don't need to count the whole bar. Start with a few expensive bottles this week, count them again next week and Jery can show their variance. You can build an order from the first count.

Can I count glassware too?

Yes. Count glassware separately across the venue and log breakage as it happens. Between two counts, Jery shows what's missing, what was recorded as broken and the cost of any unexplained difference.

How does the order reach my supplier?

Jery sends it to the rep you've set on the supplier, from the order you checked. Prefer your own way? Download it as Excel or CSV. When the delivery lands, receive it against the order and on-hand goes up.

Will it tell me which bartender or which shift?

By item, not by person. Each product's gap is worked out across the whole bar between two counts, so nobody is blamed for a paperwork gap. To narrow a gap down, count that bottle on its own, more often.

What about staff drinks and spills that never hit the POS?

Log staff drinks, spills and breakage on your phone with a reason. Jery accounts for them when calculating stock variances. Only sales linked to a recipe count as recorded pours, and Jery shows how much of the calculation the available data covers.

Do I need my POS connected to count?

Not to count, order or receive. Variance needs your sales: connect your POS or upload its sales export, and each sold item is matched to a drink once. See integrations.
