The record a bar runs on

Jery is bar management software for cocktail bars. It holds the whole program, right down to the cordial inside a pre-batch. When a supplier price changes, you can see what it means for every drink that uses it. You make the calls. Jery does the legwork.

Why we built it

We kept meeting great bars that ran on spreadsheets and one person's memory.

The specs stayed in a binder. Most of the software we found was built for kitchens or for counting bottles. None of it could hold a real program: a cordial inside a pre-batch inside a drink on two menus, poured by a team that changes every season.

And nothing talked to anything else. The prices sat in someone's inbox, the stock on a clipboard, the sales in the POS. When the vermouth went up, nobody carried it through to the Negroni, its batch or its menu price. When the person who held it all together moved on, the program went with them.

So we built one record for the whole program. Each drink is written once, and Jery works out the rest from it: the cost from what you paid, the allergens from what goes in, the price from your target margin and the prep from the nights ahead. Because everything is connected, Jery can work from the whole program, find the answers you need and draft changes for you to approve.

What we hold to

  • Every number shows its sourceYou can trace a drink's cost back to its supplier invoice and see which price was used to calculate its margin. With no data, Jery shows a blank and the reason, never a zero. Forecasts come with a range and a running score.
  • A person approves every changeJery reads invoices, matches sales and drafts edits. Nothing Jery drafts is saved until someone on your team approves it. You can see who made each change, when, and what the previous value was.
  • Built with working barsEach part started with a bar manager, head bartender or owner showing us the work. What bars ask for during the beta shapes what we build next.
  • Your records stay yoursYour data is never sold, never published and never reaches another customer. You can export your records to Excel, CSV or PDF and close your account from the app.

Who's building it

We're a small team of bar people and engineers. Bars in the beta use Jery to cost drinks, count stock and print menus every week.

  • Jason CutbirthCo-founder and CEO

Before Jery, Jason was general manager and partner at a company that built bars for some of the world's best cocktail programs, with more than 400 projects across 45 countries. He holds an MBA from Alliance Manchester Business School.

  • Sarah Dawn MarsHead of customer success and community

Sarah co-founded and ran Teresa Cocktail Bar, a Tales of the Cocktail nominee. She was also the first customer success hire at Loaded and now builds Overproof.

  • Max AasbøCo-founder, product and engineering
